A World Heritage Site is a landmark or area with legal
protection by an international convention administered by the United Nations
Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). World Heritage
Sites are designated by UNESCO for having cultural, historical, scientific or other
form of significance
As of July there are 40 world heritage sites in India
and India is 6th in the list. Especially below are world heritage
sites in Maharashtra (along with the listed year)

3. Elephanta caves (1987)
4. Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (2004)
5. Victorian Gothic and Art Deco Ensembles of Mumbai (2018)

Ajanta Caves
This site was listed in 1983 in a world heritage list,
located in Aurangabad District, these caves represent Buddhist art and these
are referred as masterpieces
Ellora Caves
This site was listed in 1983, located in the Aurangabad
district, Ellora consists of 34 temples, and the largest temple if the Kailasa temple
Elephanta Caves
These caves were built in 5th and 6th
centuries, temples built there are dedicated to Shiva and Elephanta caves are
located on Island in Mumbai Harbor
Formerly this was identified as Victoria terminus. Located
in Mumbai and built in 19th century, it was major commercial port
during british era, currently is biggest railway station in Mumbai and is jewel
of Maharashtra, this site was listed in UNESCO in 2004
Victorian Gothic and Art Deco Ensembles of
Mumbai
This site was listed in 2018 and combination of number
of buildings such as Bombay high court, Mumbai University, oval Maidan, David
Sassoon Library
Western ghats (Kaas plateau)
Kaas plateau is very beautiful place in western ghats and
same was listed down as world heritage place in wester ghats in 2012, Kaas plateau
has large number of different flowers and makes western ghat more beautiful
