Regions of Maharashtra- Marathwada, Vidharbha, Pune, Nashik, Konkan

We have discussed different divisions of Maharashtra, and now we will discuss the Regions of Maharashtra.

Based on administrative work, Maharashtra is divided into 6 divisions and based on geography, history, and political sentiments, further grouped into 5 regions

·      Marathwada

·      Vidharbha

·      Konkan

·      Pune

·      Nashik

Vidharbha division is made up of Nagpur and Amaravati division, Marathwada is made up of Aurangabad division, Nashik region is made up of Nashik division, and Konkan is made of Mumbai or Konkan division and etc. 

Vidharbha region is located at the east of Maharashtra- Nagpur, and Amaravati are the two largest cities in the Vidarbha region and it includes around 11 districts

Marathwada was formed on 17 September 1948, there are 8 districts in the region, Marathwada has all community people and has monuments like Tuljapur, Ambajogai, Nanded, Parli Vaijnath, Nangnath

Nanded, Aurangabad, and Latur are the few largest cities in Maharashtra 

Nashik region is also identified as Khandesh and has Nashik as largest city in the region 

Pune region is very rich in culture and politics, important cities are Pune, Kolhapur, Sangli, Satara, Solapur

Konkan region is a very important part of Maharashtra, it is rich in nature and sea products as most of part of coastal, main cities are Mumbai, Raigad, thane, etc
