Maharashtra is one of the most attractive states in India and is filled with different cultures and religions. The official language of Maharashtra is Marathi, people also speak Hindi and English as preferred ways of communication.

Maharashtra formation day is celebrated every 1st of May as it was formed on 1st May 1960, Maharashtra is spread over 307,713 sq. km area and is the third-largest state in India by area.

The capital city of Maharashtra is Mumbai, in some other references (winter), Nagpur is also identified as capital

There are a total 36 districts and 358 taluka's in Maharashtra and same are divided into 6 different divisions for the ease of administrative work, below are those divisions, basically divisions are made on the basis of culture 

1.    Pune

2.    Nashik

3.    Nagpur

4.    Amravati

5.    Konkan 

6.    Amravati

Vehicle Registration for Maharashtra is MH, Maharashtra is also famous for its food, famous food includes Vadapav, Misal Pav, Puran Poli, Zunka Bhakar.

Maharashtra is famous for its weather as well, there are a number of picnic spots, Lonavala is a famous hill station in India and it attracts a lot of tourism and it is situated between two beautiful cities Mumbai and Pune, it is around 50KM away from Pune.

Mahabaleshwar is another world-recognized hill station situated around 120km from Pune and 260Km from Mumbai. It attracts a lot of tourists in winter. Mahabaleshwar is also famous for strawberry farms and Mapro garden.

Other recognized hill stations are Panchgani, Matheran, Lavasa.


Regarding transportation in Maharashtra, under schema Gram Sadak Yojana, every city or village is connected now.
